ColourPop Ultra Satin Lips in Spritz

I have a love/dislike realtionship with ColourPop Cosmetics. A lot of their products are hit or miss, hot or not. I LOVED the Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick in The Rabbit and Lyin King. Those colors are richly pigmented and for the most part don't move much. I do recommend using a lip liner just to be safe.

When ColourPop had their 20% off sale, I purchased Littlestitious and London Fog. London Fog I liked, it was similar to the formula in The Rabbit and Lyin King.  Littlestitious I hated. The smell was off, the texture was runny and the application was patchy. The formula was so much different from the other three. I decided that it was probably just a bad batch and thought that I would give it another go, with another color.

A few weeks ago, I purchased some shadows, a highlighter and the Ultra Satin Lip Color in Spritz.

Spritz
Littlestitious, just a reminder.
I really like this product. It was far better than Littlestitious. The formula was similar to the other three colors that I like. It doesn't smell like Littlestitious either.  Don't get me wrong, the smell isn't the greatest anyway. They all have a "chemically" smell. Like I said before, I really think that Littlestitious I got was a bad batch.

The ColourPop site says that Spritz is a mid tone, true bubble gum pink. When I think of bubble gum pink, I think of Kat Von D's Backstage Bambi. I always feel that ColourPop's color descriptions are always way off. I feel that this color is more of a warm toned pink, than bubble gum pink.

I love Spritz as an everyday color, especially in the summertime. I usually wear a bright bold lip, but I know I'll get a lot of use out of this because it looks cute. This is as "nude" as I'll go, because for me a nude lip... is lip balm.

One thing I will say, you have to use a lip liner with these products. I see a little bit of a slip in the fine lines around my mouth. You do have reapply if you eat. But, the color doesn't go on patchy, or flake off.

Spritz and LA LA on my eyes
I'm curious to try the Ultra Matte Lip, but I'm worried that they will be too drying on the lips. At $6.00 a piece, it might be worth it to pick up a few. I told myself, no new makeup until the fall. I ordered some shadows from Colourpop today, June 30th. Starting in July, no new makeup until September or October. Excuse the brows, I'm growing them out.

Overall, the prices are right and the colors are fun! ColourPop

My Top 10 Movies: Part 1 January-June, 2016

So I decided to create a list of my top 10 movies of 2016 thus far. We're almost done with the first 1/2 of the year (It's June 29th). In December, I'll create a new list, my part 2. Some of these movies I've already reviewed in other blog postings and others I haven't. For those, I'll do a quick review in this post.

10.  Dirty Grandpa: Robert de Niro and Zac Efron. My goodness what a funny duo. This movie, by no means whatsoever, is an academy award winner, but what a fun, raunchy ride. If you're easily offended, pass this one up because the humor isn't for the faint of heart. Rated R

9. Me Before You: The only romance on my list. This was a novel, I didn't know that and I usually read the books first. Emilia Clarke is hilarious and fun as the quirky Louisa Clark. Her style is eccentric and her heart is worn on her sleeve. Sam Claflin plays Will Traynor, a onetime playboy, who suffers a serious accident and becomes paralyzed living out the rest of his days in a wheelchair. This movie does make you think about how fragile life is and what you'd do for love. There's something charming about Will, even with his now cynical view on life. What does one, who was once so active do in a wheelchair. At the end of his life, my father, who never truly retired, even with a cancer diagnosis, was stuck in a wheelchair. As much as he loved his wife and kids, he hated being in that chair. I've seen what that can do to a person. This movie isn't for everyone. It's definitely not a romantic comedy. Rated PG-13

8. The Jungle Book: What a visually stunning film. I know the talking animals are silly, but the CGI isn't bad. Young Mowgli is adorable. This isn't as good as Cinderella, but was still fun to watch. By the way, I love Jon Favreau. He's AMAZING and so talented! Rated PG

7.  Finding Dory: This is the sequel to Finding Nemo (which I think is a better film). I enjoyed this movie and the Pixar animation has gotten a lot better. Young Dory is the cutest thing in this movie. She's talking and then "squirrel". I just don't think that this film had the same charm as the original. Many great actors voiced the characters. Ellen DeGeneres is back as the voice of Dory. Rated PG

6.  Deadpool: The first of the superhero genre to make my list. Wow what an action packed, comedic spectacle. This is not a superhero movie to take the kids to. It's filled with crude humor and innuendos. This is not the same Ryan Reynolds "Deadpool" from X-men Origins: Wolverine. From my understanding, this Deadpool is more accurate to the actual comic book character. Rated R

5. X-Men: Apocalypse: I already reviewed this movie in another post. I have issues with the continuity, but the plot was good. Rated PG-13

4.  Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice: I reviewed this in a previous entry. Overall, Henry Cavill...... yum, I mean good, Ben Affleck...... ok (his staged fights looked too staged!) Gal Gadot...... just isn't Wonder Woman to me yet. I'm excited to get the extended version when it comes out July 18th. Rated PG-13

3. The Shallows: Jaws 5? I really enjoyed this movie. I like Blake Lively.I never really watched her films until The Age of Adaline and I loved that movie. She has a very classic look about her, which really fit that film. She was amazing in this too. Some of the CGI was questionable. Would a shark really do that to the buoy? I question that part of the film too. There was just enough gore and fear tactics to keep me interested. The seagull kept changing and that bothered me because he was my favorite character and I notice things like that. Thank goodness I saw this movie because I didn't want to write a top nine and there were slim pickings in movies this year. Rated PG-13

2. Money Monster: When it's George Clooney and Julia Roberts, the movie is bound to be good. I always love a movie about the corrupt business men who control the world. Premise: A young man (the guy from Unbroken) invests $60,000 in a fraudulent investment deal because, Lee Gates (George Clooney) the host of "Money Monster" tells the world that the stock is a sure thing. The guy from Unbroken, loses every single cent and decides to take "Money Monster" hostage. Julia Roberts is the shows producer, trying desperately to save her star and figure out what happened to the stock. I really enjoyed this movie because, yes, some (not all, all is an absolute) businesswomen/men are corrupt people who are only in it for themselves. The girl from Outlander is in this too and Jodi Foster directs. Rated R

1. Captain America: Civil War: This movie was already reviewed in another post. All I can say is, this is one of my favorite Marvel Movies!  Rated PG-13

Let's be honest, 2016 has been a pretty crap year for movies so far. I'm not excited about many of the "Summer Blockbusters." Without the help of The Shallows this list would only have been my top nine. I hoping the second half of the year is better than the first!

June Ipsy Graffiti Bag

Again I'm very late in the month. June is almost over and my July bag will be coming in, in a bit. I have to say that for the second month in a row, my disappointment level has been at about a six. Out of my five products, I'll only use about three.

First off, let me start by saying that I do think the bag is cute and colorful. It's "spray painted" in graffiti, make-up graffiti. When I opened my bag, it was drenched in the Marc Anthony Beach Waves spray. The cap was loose and the liquid spilled all over my bag. All of the packaging and note cards were ruined. This was the second time I received a bag and with a broken/destroyed item. I did email Ipsy and they generously sent me a replacement beach spray.

What can I say, I love the smell of the Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray. It smells like coconuts on the beach. I, especially in the summer, hate to blow-dry my hair. I just like to air-dry it. I already use a product from Organix, a spray that hold my waves. I don't have curly, just wavy especially when I air-dry it. This spray seemed a bit tacky. Apparently, you can spray it on dry or damp hair, just spray and scrunch. You can purchase this product at various drugstores across the country. I will use this product, but probably won't purchase another.

The next product that I will use is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Lounge. I know Urban Decay is a cruelty free line. I love Urban Decay and have many of their make-up products. This eyeshadow in particular is very confusing. Is it brown? Is it green? Is it purple? Is it red? It's all four colors in one. The swatch below is horrible. I used this color as an all over shade this afternoon and it looks better on than swatched. In this photo, it looks like a saddle brown. In the pan it looks like a metallic, shimmer khaki brown/green.  This isn't a color that I would pick out for myself, but it's fun and I'll use it up until it's gone. Urban Decay shadows run $19 a shadow.

The last thing that I will use up for sure is the Juice Beauty Luminous Lip crayon in Zuma, a cherry red.  I know that this product is made with all natural ingredients, something I look for in my products and this is also a cruelty free brand. Because of the natural ingredients, this line can be pretty pricey. The lip crayon in my bag looks highly pigmented, but when applied, it's pretty sheer. You have to build up the color and there is a lot of slip and bleeding into my fine lines. Gwyneth Paltrow is a spokesperson for this line. I know that many people get annoyed by her, but I admire her clean living. The lip crayons run $22 a piece.

The next thing that I may or may not use is the Healing Concealer Boo-Boo Cover Up. I'm not a fan of concealer. Concealers sit in my fine lines and actually accentuate the thing they are supposed to hide.  There are only three colors in the range, light, medium and dark. According to the site, these concealers cover up and heal the skin. They contain, vitamin E, green tea, chamomile, and tea tree oil, all great ingredients. The concealers come in two sizes and are $10 and $20.

The last thing that came in my bag was a nail polish from  Jessie's Girl called Julie G. I'm not a fan of polish because of the ingredients. This brand is free of the "big 3" DBP, formaldehyde and toluene. The scent of the polish is very strong and dries quickly. Two coats are definitely needed. I tried it on one finger and by the next day, it was already coming off. In the polishes defense, I didn't use a top coat. When I do, my polish can last a very long time. This company is a cruelty free cosmetic company, but is not organic. Looking on the site, their products are reasonably priced. This polish is $3,99. The is was cute. It's a mint green/blue. I don't wear polish, so this is something that I won't keep.

Overall, I wasn't impressed with the contents of this bag. Let's hope July's bag is better.
